At the entrance to the town of Bargni is Villa Serafini (19th century), where General Bernardino Serafini was born, a patriot of the Risorgimento, who particularly distinguished himself in the defence of Rome (1849); in 1860 he took part in the Expedition of the Thousand, obtained the rank of general after the unification and was appointed senator of the kingdom in 1886. A plaque in his memory can be seen in the town square. The completely renovated complex is located in a magical setting overlooking the beautiful hills of the Marche, 20 km from the beaches of the town of Fano and framed by the villages of Bargni, Serrungarina, Cartoceto and Fossombrone.
